And the winner is...

RG3. He flew away with it. Literally. Superman does that.

Congratulations to the man I feel deserved the trophy, & really, how do you not give it to a player who shows up wearing Superman socks? Seriously. Those are classic. When you can get something trending on twitter within ten minutes…you’re a big timer. #supermansocks made it, and quick.

Congrats to Baylor as well on their first Heisman trophy winner. And Andrew Luck? No luck yet again as he finished in second place for the second year in a row.

Richardson? Well, he did finish ahead of Ball, but I was surprised he wasn’t closer to the top. I was off with my two and three predictions. But I do find it funny that neither athlete from the south region won the south. RG3 captured the south’s vote, and I thought Richardson would at least get the vote near home. Didn’t expect the SEC overload to change how SEC territory voted.

But back to RG3. Again, it was an hour’s worth of waiting to hear a heartfelt speech from the recipient that always seems to bring chills to me, no matter the winner. RG3’s was no different.

One statement in the introduction of the Heisman show really caught my attention. “25 pounds of bronze carries immeasurable weight for one man who will win the trophy tonight.” That man was Robert Griffin III, and I feel he embodied the characteristics needed to become a member of the Heisman fraternity.

Congrats on getting it right voters, and congrats again RG3. Strike the Heisman pose anytime you want to now, just don’t let that Superman cape get in the way.
